fd2s to Develop Wayfinding Master Plan for Hill Country Memorial Hospital

Hill Country Memorial, in Fredericksburg, Texas, has selected fd2s to develop a comprehensive wayfinding master plan for its entire campus system. The main campus includes an 86-bed hospital, the HCM Wellness Center, and the two extended locations which include other patient, medical, physician and operational services. As the Hill Country’s Hospital, HCM serves an eight county area in the Texas Hill Country, and beyond.

“We are very pleased to be working with fd2s. Their professional and insightful considerations to our local and industry-wide challenges fit well with our story and will create significant, appreciated and memorable customer experience improvements,” said Monty Mohon, Chief Brand Officer for Hill County Memorial. “We are grateful for their service.”

The project will include an examination and evaluation of the wayfinding challenges on the campus, the development of an overall strategy for addressing these challenges, and the creation and documentation of conceptual designs for wayfinding elements recommended by the strategy. In addition to strategic and design issues related to signage and other elements of the physical environment, the completed master plan will make recommendations regarding non-signage wayfinding tools such as the institution’s web site and printed materials.

The plan will also include recommendations regarding phasing and budgets for the initial rollout of the system, as well as ideas for dealing with future changes that might be necessitated by expansions or modifications to campus facilities.
