Environmental Graphic Design

The talented, multi-disciplinary fd2s team works with developers, government agencies, architects, and others to create identities and environmental graphics programs that increase the marketability of retail, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
By creating a relevant, memorable identity for a project, and then consistently conveying this identity throughout the physical environment, we can help to set a project apart from its competition, capturing attention and dramatically improving its sales/leasing prospects.
Our environmental graphic design services include:

Identity Development

For retail and mixed-use projects, fd2s works closely with the project’s developer and appropriate consultants to develop project names and graphic identities (logos, color palettes, etc.) that reflect the project’s desired market position, target audience, and physical environment.

Signage and Graphics

fd2s has extensive experience with the full range of signage elements in the built environment. This includes interior and exterior pedestrian and vehicular directional signage, building or campus directories, building and tenant identification elements, info booths/kiosks, and architectural clues (landmarking, zoning, pathways, etc.). In addition to experts in signage planning and design, the fd2s team also includes specialists in signage materials and fabrication methods, which enable us to provide services through documentation, bidding, and contract administration.

Donor Recognition Programs

For non-profit organizations and healthcare institutions, fd2s develops and implements donor recognition programs that reflect the nature of the corresponding fund raising campaign and the broader institution brand, and that are also fully integrated with the underlying architecture – supporting wayfinding efforts and enhancing the user experience.

Placemaking Elements

fd2s can work with a project’s architect and others to create public art, street furniture, paving patterns, seasonal pageantry, and other non-signage elements that can be used at a project to enhance the physical environment – creating a stronger sense of place and supporting the project’s brand position.
