Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
Interactive installation enhances the giving experience
To honor contributors to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Chairman’s Circle fundraising campaign and annual gifts, fd2s led a multi-disciplinary design team, including architect, lighting designer, interactive designer, cost consultant, and custom signage fabricator, in creating a marquee donor wall in the new lobby. Members of the Chairman’s Circle are identified with etched acrylic “ingots” illuminated with concealed LED fixtures contained in horizontal rails. The installation forms a cropped circle composition, which pays homage to the campaign name. An interactive “niche” composed of three monitors behind glass recognizes annual gifts. Visitors can search and access various groups of donors, donor stories, patient testimonials, and other content that enhances the giving experience. Glass components in the 55-foot-long donor wall are illuminated with programmable LEDs to allow for seasonal and event-specific effects.
