Austin, Texas Vintage Signage Design Draws Inspiration from Historic Building

Texas State Capitol Complex Visitors Center

Positioned in the extreme southeast corner of the Texas State Capitol grounds, the former General Land Office Building now serves as the Visitor Center for the Capitol Complex. Its handsome Romanesque edifice, oddly evocative of a medieval castle, serves as the de facto icon that appears on exterior and interior signage. fd2s designed exterior and interior signage whose palette relates to the neutral palette of the building while honoring traditional motifs in fence finials, escutcheon plates, and drainage grates found throughout the larger Capitol grounds.
