The Methodist Hospital
A graphics program for a high-profile new hospital research facility.
Working with Kohn Pederson Fox Associates and WHR Architects, fd2s created a comprehensive environmental graphics program for a new 12-story research facility and its key programmatic occupant, the Methodist Institute of Technology, Innovation and Education.
The project included extensive coordination with both the Texas Medical Center Signage Standards for exterior signage and The Methodist Hospital Design Style Guide for interior signage. Because this was the first application of the new TMH interior signage standards, the scope included the creation of new sign types that weren’t included in the original document, the refinement of some sign types that didn’t meet “real-world” demands, and the development of custom signage for the MITIE-associated front-of-house areas and reception wall. fd2s also created a more neutral alternative color palette that is compatible with the building’s unique architecture and interior design.
