Steven L. Stamper co-founded fd2s in 1985, and now leads the fd2s team as it addresses strategic and technical issues related to wayfinding, orientation, and placemaking in the environment. As the firm’s managing principal, he is also responsible for financial and administrative aspects of the firm’s daily operations.
Steven has extensive experience with wayfinding strategy and experiential graphic design for a wide range of project types, extending from retail developments and corporate facilities to medical centers and city-scale municipal projects.
An active participant in the global design community, Steven is currently a board member of the Society for Experiential Graphic Design, and previously served as the organization’s President. He has chaired the SEGD Design Awards competition, co-chaired the group’s annual conference, and served as a juror for the American Institute of Graphic Arts’ annual design competition. Steven also developed the industry-standard Grade II Braille digital font system.
Steven earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communication Arts and Design from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Curtis Roberts entered the field of experiential graphic design in 1989. Since then, he has used his architectural education, highly refined design skills, and thorough knowledge of signage materials and fabrication methods to complete hundreds of successful projects.
Curtis has worked on a broad range of assignments throughout the United States, as well as on mixed-use and retail developments in Europe, Asia, South America, and the Middle East. He currently directs the design and documentation activities of the fd2s team, and also plays a key role in decisions about the firm’s operations and strategic direction.
In addition to his expertise in wayfinding and signage programs, Curtis is widely regarded for his work in the development of donor recognition systems and interpretive exhibits for hospitals, universities, and not-for-profit institutions.
Curtis earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and has served as a guest critic at the Texas State University College of Fine Arts and Communication and the University of Texas at Austin’s College of Design.
Company co-founder Larry Paul Fuller, now officially retired from fd2s, enjoys an “of-counsel” relationship with the firm, teaming on various engagements as a writer and brand specialist. He is a communications professional with extensive experience in the fields of journalism and architecture who — prior to co-founding fd2s in 1985 — served for 10 years as editor of the award-winning Texas Architect magazine. In the capacity of copywriter, Fuller has produced numerous successful advertising campaigns and corporate communications programs. He holds a Master of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.
