Austin, Texas A New Commemorative Display for a World-Class Humanities Research Center

Ransom Center Meyerson Memorial Research Wing

More than a decade ago, fd2s worked with Lake|Flato Architects on a major renovation of the University of Texas at Austin’s Harry Ransom Center. In the words of Lake|Flato’s Bill Aylor, the goal of the renovation was to “turn a very introverted building inside out by doing something that would tell passersby what was going on inside.”

Now we have returned to the Ransom Center to create a new commemorative display for the institution’s David Nathan Meyerson Memorial Research Wing. We are working with Ransom Center staff to create an elegantly framed image of Ms. Marlene Nathan Meyerson, who died in January 2017. This display will grace a wall adjacent to her son’s portrait, underscoring the close-knit family’s collective support for the arts.
